Greenlaw (5-foot-11, 237 pounds) recorded 321 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four sacks and three interceptions over four seasons with the Razorbacks.
The 49ers have had some pretty good luck with 5th round picks, since John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan took over the team. George Kittle of course being the best 5th round pick of any team for the past God knows how many years, while Trent Taylor also a 5th round pick in the same year of 2017 had a pretty pedestrian season in 2018 after having a very good rookie season. Taylors decline in 2018 was due to what was reported to be his recovering from a back injury and correction procedure prior to the season.
Last season D.J. Reed was solid while playing both the slot and free safety position.
This season welcome Dre Greenlaw who could be tailor made for Robert Saleh’s defense. Greenlaw possesses great speed, and has been describes as a "run&chase" linebacker with good instincts in pass coverage. Greenlaw’s skills will be especially needed in the NFC west which includes both Russell Wilson and the newest speedy addition quarterback Kyler Murray.
